Psychometrics are useful tools that can improve the quality of a clinician’s diagnosis and care of mental health patients. This talk will review the appropriate use, as well as the strengths and limitations, of a variety of rating scales that clinicians could utilize in their clinical practice

Mareen Dennis, MS, is a Licensed Psychological Practitioner who is the Director of Psychological Testing in the University of Kentucky Department of Psychiatry. She teaches psychiatrists and clinicians best practices when using psychometric tools in mental health assessment and intervention. She established the Adult ADHD Assessment Clinic for the UK Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic, where she developed a multidisciplinary team approach for the evaluation and life-long treatment of this disorder. Ms. Dennis has over 25 years of clinical experience assessing and treating children, adolescents and adults. Her areas of interest include ADHD, Learning Disorders and Anxiety.
