Description

WORKSHOP SUMMARY

Jeff Yocom, LCSW
Therapist at Renew Counseling Services

Psychodynamic theory has changed a great deal as it grew from its Freudian roots into contemporary relational models. The paradigm has shifted from an individual-centric view of the psyche to one that is interaction and attachment focused. This program will explore the evolution of psychodynamic theory and its value in evaluating and treating psychopathology.

In his private practice at Renew Counseling Services in Louisville, KY, Jeff Yocom provides individual therapy for adults dealing with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, compulsive behaviors and trauma, including complex trauma. Jeff is trained in several research-supported treatment models, including psychodynamic therapy, CBT, DBT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, and EEG Biofeedback (neurofeedback).
